Interviews for Issuance of Bulk Import Control Licenses
for Mobile Phones (Unit 04) – 2026

Interviews for the issuance of Bulk Import Control Licenses (Unit 04) for mobile phones for the year 2026 will be held from 15 December 2025 to 19 December 2025.

Basic Eligibility Criteria for First-Time Applicants

Applicants applying for a bulk license for the first time must meet the following requirements:

i.   Possess a valid Vendor License issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).
ii.  Have continuously obtained item licenses for the past three (03) years.
iii. Have obtained fifteen (15) to twenty (20) item licenses during the preceding year.
iv  Have fully complied with all license conditions and the provisions of the Imports and Exports Control Act and its regulations during the preceding year.

Applicants must present the following documents at the interview

i.   Request letter.
ii.  Original and photocopy of the Vendor License issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).
iii. Originals and photocopies of Type Approvals for each model of mobile phone issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL).
iv. A complete list of suppliers for imports.

Interview Arrangements

Eligible importers must obtain an interview date and time from Unit 04 on or before 10 December 2025. They will subsequently be informed of the assigned date and time for their appearance before the Interview Panel.
